SEO tools

Small, focused checks for the jobs that come up when you launch: confirming a backlink, fixing how a page looks when it's shared, and sizing up a domain before you ask it for a link.

Built for launch week

Launching a product means a burst of mentions: directories, newsletters, launch boards, blog posts. Each one is a chance at a backlink, and each one is worth checking. Did the link actually go live? Is it followed, or marked nofollow? Does your own page show a proper title, description and image when someone shares it?

These tools answer those questions from the same HTML a search engine crawler receives, without running JavaScript. That's the view that matters for SEO, and it's often different from what you see in your browser.

How the checks work

The backlink and meta tag checkers load the page you enter from our server, once, with the user agent IndieTideToolsBot. They only reach public websites, follow up to four redirects and read the first 1.5 MB of a page. The domain authority checker uses the Open PageRank dataset, an open measure of how well linked a domain is.

We don't store the pages or domains you check. To keep the tools fast for everyone, each visitor can run a limited number of checks per minute.
